Beans are falling out in the gap between drum and face plate. I tried pulling the drum forward but it won’t budge. I have also made sure the front plate is tight. I can slow it by decreasing drum speed, but that is a temporary fix. Gap is about 4.8 mm . Any idea of a

Have you contacted tech support? They probably answer this question frequently and should be your first try. Failing that here are a couple things I’ve done on my R1.
1- Remove the face plate and look for scuffing on the interior surface of the face plate. That scuffing is caused by the drum rubbing the face plate when the drum length extends when heated. If there are scuff marks, you need to move the face plate (a very few thousandths of an inch!) in the opposite direction. Basically try loosening the screws and slide/push the face plate in the opposite direction. We’re talking a few thousandths of an inch then re-tighten the face plate screws while keeping the face plate in the new position. If that doesn’t fix the issue then try…
2- There should be washers (they are used as spacers) on the end of the drum shaft which fits in the bearing in the face plate. Try removing the thinnest spacer. If that doesn’t work then replace that spacer and remove a thicker spacer. It only takes a few thousandths of change in shaft position to keep the beans from slipping thru the gap between the drum and the face plate. If you remove too many spacers (or a spacer that’s too thick) the drum will rub against face plate, so go thru this methodically.

How much are you loading up? I know the R2 pro comes with an extra piece that attaches to the roast door handle ( face plate). I didn’t see the purpose for it but it’s to weigh down the door when roasting a kilo or more at a time in order to prevent this from happening.
Hi Bruce, Ok, thank you. The axle is flush against the face place, it does not protrude at all so maybe the trick is removing a spacer. So removing a space changes the position of the drum closer to face plate? Seems like it be do the opposite?

I am doing smallish roasts 400-600 g. I am using the weighted door handle and have been holding it down during roasts but would prefer a better fix. Thanks for the response.
