Colombia Narino Buesaco roast-along

Just wanted to chime in…

@billc so very graciously mailed me some of his beans from this experiment. My recollection is that I didn’t detect any bitterness in any of the samples he sent me for a “taste along” :slight_smile:

@bradm many of my roasts look like that. My friends who buy my beans haven’t had a bad thing to say about the results.

I try for the declining ROR, flattening out at the end, but sometimes run out of heat and have to bump up the power to reach my desired Drop temperature.

I’ve had to do that too with 1lb batches.

It looks like Happy mug has the Narino Buesaco back in stock. They were out for a while.

Yeah, pretty much what I do though I do try to stretch the end of the roast to continue a steady decline. Bean characteristics (probably moisture) can get in the way of managing the B-RoR shape but I-RoR seems to do what I want…
