Hey everyone, I sometimes face an issue where after I drop the beans, it seems like some get stuck between the drum and faceplate, which leads to some of the beans falling from the bottom part where supposedly the chaff drops from. I typically lose about 15-20gm when this happens.
Anyone knows why this happens and how can it avoided?
Sometimes also I get a crack early on or at least what sounds like a strong crack, and a couple of beans end up in the cooling tray early in the roast when they’re still green.
There are several reasons for this. As you’ve already roasted a lot on it, we can exclude the first seasoning roasts and a couple more after. The second one usually occurs when cleaning the IBTS and reassembling. Roaster is dropping green beans into cooling tray - #7 by braca19452f9m
Thank you for your answer, while I guess that could make sense but what is confusing me is that it happens maybe once every 8-10 roasts, not everytime. So I’m not sure if it’s an issue with how I reassembeled after cleaning.
You might want to make a note of batch size and bean type when it happens. You may also want to doublecheck that the door is not slightly ajar from debris.
If it continues to happen, you may want to contact Aillio support.
Are you not sure because you checked or because you think it’s not? By the way, it’s not how you reassembled, it’s how the reassembly goes, which means for everyone. Sometimes you won’t notice it, sometimes, like in your case, you will. Have you tried bab’s advice? Anyway, I think it’s best for you to contact support because other, bigger issues, like needing a spare part or something, are handled that way.
