Hi folks, I’m wondering if anyone else has seen this and what might cause it.
On several roasts (seems to happen more frequently now) right after I push the button to go into bean cooling and as the beans are exiting the drum, the roaster goes to shutdown mode and before all the beans have ejected. This leaves the drum spinning slowly while the remaining beans get scorched just laying there barely moving. I panicked the first couple times this happened and tried to keep the drum moving with my wooden stir stick. Now if it happens I toggle through shutdown to off and through charge to roasting mode to try and keep the drum turning fast enough to eject beans. But it is inevitably always too late and I get some burnt and scorched beans in the mix that ruin the roast. I’ve tried cycling through on a dummy roast but I can never repeat it.
It acts as if while I’m in bean cooling mode and the fan is blasting I had accidentally hit the PRS button and advanced to shutdown. But I’ve been super careful not to do that and it still happens. Any ideas?
Thanks for any insight.
