Chromebook?

Will you guys be making this compatible with ChromeOS?

I got the Linux version running on a Chromebook in the Linux VM but it doesn’t recognize the roaster via USB. I’d say your best bet right now is to install a full Linux on the Chromebook (e.g. Ubuntu) but I haven’t tried it. Just grabbed an old Macbook from a friend.

You should be able to run it on Linux, but we do not natively support it.

Hi, I’m new here, just got the Bullet last week. I have a Chromebook and have managed to install the latest RoasTime Linux version available, 4.6.36. However, despite plugging/unplugging/restarting etc, I still cannot connect RoasTime to the roaster. Just get the disconnected message.
Any advice? Thanks.

I don’t know much about Chromebooks. I know it is Linux under the hood - but I don’t know how much access you have. To make it work, you likely need to update the udev rules: Ubuntu 20.04 instructions for RoasTime

My conclusion was that you can only pass through USB devices that the Chromebook recognizes which isn’t true for the Bullet. I think there’s a way install a bare Ubuntu but I was too lazy and ended up getting an old MacBook from a friend

Hi,

as far as I know on ChromeOS based devices neither Android apps nor Linux apps can (currently) get raw access to USB devices. That is the problem.
