Hello. I have an R1V2 that I bought brand new in August 2025 from Sweet Marias.
Have loved it so far but have only put like 10-12 roasts on it due to “other life things to deal with.”
Today I went to do a “full flame to second crack” baseline roast as described in the Coffee Mind “Master Your Bullet The Coffee Mind Way.” Specs on that roast are 300C pre-heat, P9, F3, D9.
I set that roast in RoasTime, started the pre-heat, and walked away for about 20 minutes. When I returned, I was greeted with what I know now is the dreaded ErC 6864 error. I immediately PRSd it to Cool mode, but the error persisted until I finally powered it off with the drum temp like 150 or so. I haven’t messed with it again since.
The purpose of this post is to try to get some guidance on my next best steps. I know the Aillio site lists these potential causes below. I am wondering where to start, given my roaster’s newness and relatively little use. I can start going through these step by step, but it’s a lot to do, so I am hoping that the experts here could at least reasonably guess at the most likely culprit and best place to start.
- The IBTS Cable has obstructed the IBTS Fan.
- The IBTS Cable/IBTS Fan Cable is having a connection issue.
- The IBTS Module is overheating.
- The IBTS Fan is reaching its end of life.
The roaster stays in my garage, which is well insulated, relatively dust-free, and doesn’t get either too hot or too cold. I keep it on a rolling worktable, and it never gets jostled/bumped around at all. I faithfully clean the chaff collector and check for drum obstruction before every roast, and the chaff screen was removed and cleaned about 3-4 roasts ago. I have never had the cover or face plate off. My most recent roast was 8-10 days ago, with no issues at all.
I appreciate any help that anyone could provide. I am not afraid to do any of the troubleshooting steps, but I would love any guidance, based on what I have shared so far, on where I would be best-off starting.
Thanks,
Mark
