Fan goes to 0

Hello All,
As per the title, my problem is my R1v2 (drum)fan spontaneously going to zero. I roast 3 BTB 800g roasts per session. Looking back, I see that on the 1st roast of my previous session, this occurred at just under 4 minutes, shortly before I usually go from F2 to F3. I don’t think I was even aware of it that time, and after the usual increase in fan speed, the rest of the roast proceeded normally as did the next 2 roasts. During my most recent session, the 1st roast was normal, but on the 2nd roast, F0 occurred at around 30 seconds and again around 3 minutes. The fan control responded normally to button input. On the 3rd roast, the problem kept recurring between 30 seconds and 2 minutes at least 5 times. The remainder of the roast was normal. Some of these episodes were totally silent and others triggered an error message. I think it was A-02, which doesn’t make sense, but to be honest, I didn’t make an effort to take note of it at the time.
I would really appreciate input into what could be going on. I probably need to provide more info too, so let me know.
Thanks.

Eric

Hi Eric,

Have you tried recalibrating the Fan? Here’s how:

If you have done this and the issue persists, the Exhaust Fan Motor might be reaching its end of life. You can check if there’s a vendor near your location and check if they have the part in stock. Please use the same guide to recalibrate the Exhaust Fan after replacement.

Best regards,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I thought about it, but didn’t know if that could be the solution. I had calibrated the fan in the past, but not since the problem arose. I’ll calibrate it and see what happens. Thanks very much for the troubleshooting!
