Firmware 79 not annoucing charge

I installed FW 79 and decided to try a 500g roast with the computer software which also updated. Ok first of all it reaches the preheat temp of 260c and the R2 never announces “Charge”. I have to hit the PRS button to get get the Charge command from the R2…this about the 7th or 8th roast for me. . I have stuck to manual roast thus far because the software is awkward and I don’t want to waste a load of beans like I may have just done. The roast started with P going to 9 Fat 6 D at 9. Fine until PO suddenly pops up and I can not get it back up manually or from the computer. Stopping everything was a bloody problem too. I pulled the beans from the R2. The Power was flickering qt this point after trying to get it rest to 9. I tried F1 to get it reset to roast again nd that didn’t work either. Screw it using the software…i will try recovering this batch manually. I welcome comments. Meanwhile to find if I can delete this batch from my roasting world records or is from roasting time …the two are confusing names.

That does sound frustrating. A few thoughts:

  1. Just because the roaster reaches the preheat temperature doesn’t necessarily mean it is ready to charge. My R2 will fluctuate above and below the preheat temperature for some time before it reaches thermal stability and gives me the the “Ready to Charge” notification.

  2. If you think the drop to P0 is related to the new firmware, try downgrading the firmware to get back running.

  3. If you have time to troubleshoot, did you also install the induction firmware 28? Are your induction heaters getting too hot owing perhaps to not enough airflow below the roaster? What is going on with your electricity; could there be an issue there that is causing the roaster to shut down to protect its electronics?

  1. Your computer: Mac-chip intel (x64) or M (arm)? or running windows or Linux? If you are using a new Mac you will need the ARM download Roastime: RoasTime™

  2. If you updated FW79, you also need to update inductions firmware 28: Firmware Files | Aillio Docs

  3. after updated software and firmware, shut it all down, and restart computer, open Roastime, goto setting, goto software and make sure everything is updated. If it downloads updates in Roastime, close application and reopen Roastime. Now power on bullet and page the info screen to make sure you are running 79 and 28 firmware.

  4. depending on the room temp. it takes up to 20 min. to get up to “Ready to Charge”. IBTS reaches temp in about 5 to 7 minutes and stays in your charge temp until thermal stability temp…up to 20 min. “I do not drop until I get the charge statement”
