Happy weekend folks,
I’ve been exclusively roasting dry process Ethiopian beans and will never look back. Unfortunately however, I’ve noticed that often there is a notable range in bean size and I’m sure this has a direct effect on the final roasted beans. While I’ve heard from a number of folks that they just roast as-is, I really prefer to have at least some form of size control on what I’m roasting.
I’m curious if anyone has found a cost effective and efficient way to sort 10-20lb quantities of green beans prior to roasting. I have bean-size screens for my Kruve sifter, but sorting through 20lbs of green takes literally hours. I’ve seen larger models online, but you’re looking at $1K or more in most cases.
Would love to get folks’ thoughts on possible solutions.
