Once it’s at charge temp, immediately upon pressing charge, ibts will go to zero without beans charged. This means it will go to roasting mode immediately after pressing charge without even charging any beans yet. Then we will charge beans, and ibts may stay at zero or it may start reading and increase 5-30 seconds later.
Dumping beans and going back to preheat, the ibts will go back normal reading regular temps.
Why does ibts automatically go to zero when hitting charge without any beans charged; it should stay at the preheat temp then drop when it reads beans.

Normally when the roaster is ready to charge, you pour in the beans and the roaster detects this and automatically goes into roasting mode.
It sounds like you are putting it in roasting mode before adding coffee beans resulting in the zero reading.
No, it turns out there was a bad connection causing the ibts to read zero when the PRS was pushed. It automatically went to zero causing the machine programming to put it in roast mode. Luckily they fixed this with quick connects on the next version. Having the controls dangle and unplug when taking the cover off could potentially contribute to this for some
