Hello All. This is my first post here and I just got done roasting my first roast on a new R2. I have been roasting for about three years, first on a HGFS and then on a Behmor. Honestly the R2 is a bit intimidating at first but I am really excited about it. I just finished my first roast and it is the first time I had real time temperature tracking. I found it very helpful until about first crack and then the ITBS readings seem to be all over the place. Is this normal or does it look like excessive noise to you? I have looked at a lot of other peoples roast data and I don’t recall seeing anything like this. I am also happy to hear any input on the roast.
What you are seeing is the bean probe ROR, not the IBTS ROR.
In RT you can change your primary measurement to be IBTS and then enable the IBTS ROR. I would set it up like this:
We are working on reducing the noise on the bean probe ROR and will release a new FW soon.
In the mean time make sure you are on Firmware version 46
