I recently upgraded my Mac with an M4 chip to using the R1. I gotta say, I was expecting a nice new smooth system upgrade. Nope, it’s a nightmare, I have to unplug, replug, restart RT, etc to get the USB connection to engage. It also does this thing where it starts the roast in RT but it will be behind a few minutes and I hope it catches the roaster. I’m almost ready to just scrap it and go back to my 2018 MacBook and use the 3.whatever software.
Anyone else having these issues? I searched and couldn’t see anything so if there is a thread, I apologize for duping.
Exact same issue after 15.6.1 update. I had to uninstall including removing libraries and reinstall and it is connecting now.
I have also problems with the M4-Chip. The connection freezes midroast and I have to continue the roast by hand. There is an offer to debug this live…
I have an new MBPro with an M4 Pro chip (updated this morning to 15.6.1), and an new R2 sitting in its box since May, because I tried setting up the new MBPro with my R1v2 and had nothing but the same problems stated here. The R1 is running just fine with a ’17 MBPro, but, its screen is shot, and there is no space on its hard drive. I have a question, if it’s debugged on the R1, is it debugged for the R2 as well? Or is that a separate operation?
I’m game to try it. I just tried roasting again and had the same issue. Had to use the wife’s laptop.
I had issues initially (macbook pro M4) using a USB A to USB C adaptor dongle but everything seems fine since I switched to a direct USB C to micro USB cable.
