Major Exhaust Fan Issues R2

Hello there @da_kevin @jacob or other Aillio support.

I cannot get my exhaust fan to engage. I have tried reassembling and cleaning, and visibly checked everything I can think of. Unplugged and re-plugged in the associated wires, nothing will engage the exhaust fan on heat up.

I have roasted 800+ batches on my Bullet R2. I am very familiar with the chaff filter and gasket sensitivities. As well as the installation of the fan and the adequate spacing needed.
Often times, after I reinstall the chaff filter housing onto the machine and release the pull tab, I have to give a tap or two to the housing and the fan will engage.
It has always seemed like a minor hardware issue, not really sure what.

The issue I am having now cannot be resolved with a few taps. I ensured that the inner button is being triggered by the housing when it is installed, all the wires are installed properly. Everything looks visibly fine. Fan is in place. Chaff filter and gasket are well placed. All the screws were checked and tightened to ensure.

I don’t know what to do next! Could it be software/firmware related? The exhaust fan or motor wiring? Or my fan motor is failing?

I will say that after a deep clean and reassembly, I was able to get the fan to engage during my last roasting session. I did have to tap it and wiggle the housing, but then my roasting session was all good. Today, I cannot get the exhaust fan to spin.

*Quick Update, I was able to get the fan engaged twice by tapping the housing. Unfortunately it would only last about 2 seconds, then stopped functioning again. I am now wondering about the little trigger visible in the first image. Is that faulty? Why would I have to tap/slap the housing normally for engagement?

I’m sorry for interfering and suggest you wait for the guys you asked to reply. It’s just so hot and there’s no way to sleep… ever… again… If you are familiar with the multimeter, you should check for continuity, which is the simplest function on it. If it moves a bit after you tap it, it must be losing a connection somewhere. If not, just ignore me, I’ll go quietly into the night. :smiley:

Ok! A solution was found!

First let me say that Julio here in Latin America was willing to help via whatsapp so he’s a legend! But I found the issue myself as I explained the problem.
In my first uploaded image, the black wire that connects the little trigger switch has a connection issue. When I wiggled the wire, the exhaust fan turned on immediately! That little trigger switch tells the exhaust fan that the chaff filter housing is in place.

As of now, I repositioned the wire a bit and it has been functioning steadily for an hour.
