Panama Geisha first roast

Hi

My first time roasting a geisha , beans cracked at 199 mark any suggestions on the below roast to improve it on my second batch

I think your preheat is too low. I use 260 C for 350 g. Guatemala gesha roasts. No scorching if you follow that by a 20 sec. “soak” at P0 or P1. This allows your ROR to get higher initially and fall gradually and monotonically. See roast graph below…

Thank you ill try your suggestion in the next roast and see how it goes , i did think i needed to extend my roast a little too i gave it 30 seconds after first crack started as i did not want to scorch the beans , wanted a light roast

wow…is this curve kinda for Espresso? I will like to roast a GEisha natural from Guatemala but for filter …in order to highlight the beautiful flavors of the Geisha.

Nope. I roast very lightly almost all the time. For the Gesha, I almost exclusively use a French press or a pour over. Even my espresso is never roasted past city+.
