R2 Owner (non Pro) with a Pro Cooling Tray. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I was able to get my hands on the Pro cooling tray, which all social media for Aillio said is compatible with the regular R2. I have seen several instances on social media of them saying it is compatible (mentioned on Instagram and YouTube). When I plug it in, there is no signs of life.

The manual also seems to indicate it’s just plug and play.

Is there a firmware update required to use this? Is my tray DOA? or is the R2 not actually compatible? Is there some mandatory external power supply? I’m stumped. The Aillio Documentation doesn’t give any clear signs of what I’m missing:

Update. Now my normal cooling tray doesn’t work… Sooooo that sucks.

:face_holding_back_tears:

Not sure what’s going on, hopefully the support reps at their email address can help.

Edit:

Aillio Support is sending me a new connector to replace the cooling tray port on the side of the R2. Hopefully that solves it.

It’s fixed! Support was great. They were going to send me a replacement part, and this video as a guide: R2 Internal Cooling Fan Cable Replacement on Vimeo

That gave me the idea to just go ahead and take my R2 apart so that I could test the cable for continuity. All 3 wires were testing fine with a multimeter. So I gave it a good cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.

The Pro tray is now working. Crisis averted.
