I was able to get my hands on the Pro cooling tray, which all social media for Aillio said is compatible with the regular R2. I have seen several instances on social media of them saying it is compatible (mentioned on Instagram and YouTube). When I plug it in, there is no signs of life.
The manual also seems to indicate it’s just plug and play.
Is there a firmware update required to use this? Is my tray DOA? or is the R2 not actually compatible? Is there some mandatory external power supply? I’m stumped. The Aillio Documentation doesn’t give any clear signs of what I’m missing:
That gave me the idea to just go ahead and take my R2 apart so that I could test the cable for continuity. All 3 wires were testing fine with a multimeter. So I gave it a good cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.
I bought mine from a member of this forum. They have an R2 Pro, but they were using a different cooling tray with it so they didn’t need this one.
From what I understood, they were going to start selling these on the website as a standalone offering at some point. They just had to finish fulfilling the backlog of existing R2 pro owners who hadn’t received their pro tray yet.
The bottom connector is not for use with either tray. My assumption is it some kind of data port.
Hi Coffee.XK. Thank you for that information! I recall Aillio stating they were going to release the agitator (Pro) cooling tray for the R2 and even the R1 about a year ago. Obviously they were very behind on their dates to release the tray and as you mentioned, even for R2 Pro users. However, I never knew if they were going to be able to make that happen. Will be great to see for sure.
In your case, does the Pro cooling tray have its own power supply or did it just work off the cooling tray port on the R2? People at Sweet Maria’s had stated it needed its own pwr sup, and that would probably be the issue stopping it from releasing, if it did.
