RoasTime 4.13.6 on Windows 11 ARM stuck in update loop

Hi all,

I’m running RoasTime 4.13.6 on a Windows 11 ARM device and encountering a persistent update loop. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, it keeps trying to update itself and never successfully launches. I’ve tried:

  • Running as administrator
  • Clearing the RoasTime folder in AppData\Roaming
  • Reinstalling from the official site
  • Disabling firewall/antivirus temporarily

Still no luck. I suspect it might be related to backend compatibility—possibly the updater or backend being built for x64 instead of ARM? I saw a similar issue was fixed on Mac recently, so wondering if something similar is affecting Windows ARM builds.

Would love any insight or suggestions. Is there a known fix or workaround? Happy to provide logs if needed.

Thanks in advance!

hey, @strummerenator.jHIL

If the issue persists, please try the following steps:

  1. Clear the folder at AppData\Roaming\RoasTime\deps, then run the auto-update again.
  2. Go to Edit Settings and take a screenshot of your version info, so we can see which version you’re on.
  3. Make sure you’ve downloaded the Windows on ARM version from:
    RoasTime™

Thank you for reporting this! Please let us know if these steps help resolve the issue.

Deleting the /deps directory and restarting the application appears to have worked, it is no longer prompting me to update yet again. I will post my version for clarity, but yes, it is the ARM specific version. Thanks for the assistance.
