RoasTime to require firmware 116 to connect

Heads up for users of the R2 on older firmware. A few weeks from now we will begin requiring a minimum firmware version of 116 in order to connect to RT.
Version 116 has been very well tested and we have not seen any major issues.

Part of the reason for doing this is that older firmware does not provide warnings when the air flow is blocked or the chaff collector is not fully seated. When this happens the roaster may be damaged, and we want to prevent this from happening.

Jacob,
I have tried the update, it all works until it says RESTARTING…then I get an error that I need to unplug the usb and roaster and plug them back in. I do this and nothing happens for several minutes.

I have tried this several times.
Please advise

Hi @cheebiechi.V9ok,

Please try to format the SD card first, following this guide:

You can then update the Control Module firmware to V116 (You can skip to step 7, the V116 firmware file is included in the SD card preset files):

This should format your SD card and update the Control Module Firmware to the latest V116.

Hope this helps!

Jacob,
I am sorry, I can follow directions, but when they include more than simple button pushing, I am as lost as a fish out of water. I am a construction worker by trade and computer work is really tough.
I am sorry

Hi Jacob, how can I tell if my R2 is on Firmware and that it needs to be updated? I bought the Aillio R2 pro last year, I think sometimes in May or before.

Thanks
Gus

Hey Matt, I spent a little over 3 hours with no luck. Is there anyone / a phone number I can call to get some help. I have some orders that I’m trying for fulfill, this this issue is holding me back.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks!
Ghassan

I installed v116 and get ā€œibts fan stalledā€ on reboot. I reinstalled v106 and everything works fine. I tried several times with the same result.

Maybe your IBTS fan is in fact stalled. Version 116 adds additional error codes.
Please check the IBTS RPM on the RT info panel or on the display of the R2. If it shows 0RPM you should contact support.

I’ve looked all over in the info display. I don’t see IBTS RPM as a value. Can you help me find the screen to look at?

So I pulled off the control panel to look at it. Nothing seemed disconnected. I reinstalled the panel and now it’s working. I removed the panel the first go around and it didn’t help. I emailed support on the issue.

Thanks

EDIT. It’s stalled again. I’ll wait for support to reply.

Thanks

sorry for the overdue response,
send Aillio a technical ticket for help with the update, Matt Yao will be able to help you I am sure,
he has helped me a couple of times and was super patient with my zero technical abilities on computers!!!

We did it through google meet and it involved an uninstall and reinstall. pretty easy with the walk through.

GOOD LUCK

Quick update. It was a bad fan. Also the IBTS fan speed is visible on the info screen during a roast.
