Roasting without internet

Everything has been going great with my R1 V1.5 for a couple years…but my internet is down, not scheduled to be fixed for 4 more days, and I need fresh coffee! My son gave me a pound of Sweet Maria’s new Kona, and I’m eager.

I searched, but didn’t find any posts on roasting offline since 2022. Anyone doing this using RT?

If so, any sync problems when you connect back to Aillio?

Thanks.

Just roast as usual. The roast will be saved locally but the data won’t be saved to the Aillio servers. The next time RT is launched and it has internet available RT will sync the roast data with the server.

I’ve had huge problems roasting offline. It seems to really confuse the software. Even the active roasting section seemed to have hiccups and the software crashed mid-roast. I’ve had to run a hotspot on my phone and connect my laptop up to that. Hopefully something new changes because I’ve wanted to get silly and roast on the road without needing to worry about an internet connection.

Hey All,

I will be first to admit, we have not put a majority of focus into offline-first efforts. I will say that it should just work based off how we have built RT. Things save locally and replay to the server when a connection is found. I am sure there are some edge cases we could work on improving. Let us know if you find any!
