When I preheat my R2 from the control panel, the roaster seems to want to preheat to 373F.
If I press the “+” key, it jumps immediately to max (590?). I would expect it to go up incrementally.
Even weirder, if I press “-” instead, it shows a 4-digit preheat target (like 3700!!) I can then press “+”, get to 373, press it again, get 590, then press “-” to get back to whatever value I want, EG 437. I have no idea if the bullet would actually try to heat to 3700F (and presumably burn out in the process) but it seems like a bug.
I don’t think this has anything to do with RoasTime, guessing it’s a firmware/hardware issue.
I would expect only valid values to show, and the values to go up and down incrementally when the +/- buttons are pressed.
Hi Morgan.
Can you tell me which firmware version you are using?
To see the version, press top left button in off mode until you see FW C and FW I on the display.
@jacob Oh, I really hope this didn’t happen right in the middle of the final safety testing phase for the EU certification – that would be… unfortunate
By the way: you had announced an update regarding the certification status for early July – but so far, nothing at all.
Silence isn’t really confidence-inspiring, especially for a safety-critical device. Any news you can finally share?
One additional wrinkle to this: I did see some instances where the bullet was trying to preheat to 590 by default. I’m not sure why, because I’ve never intentionally preheated it that high.
It would probably make more sense for it to preheat to the lowest setting by default, or perhaps to the last preheat setting if that’s possible.
Maybe this is all part of the same issue, but I thought I would mention it.
