The new label maker is 🔥

Hey Bullet Squad,

Seriously, thank you for RoasTime! The UI is just miles ahead of Cropster and Artisan for me. Everything is so well-organized and easy to read, the hierarchy makes sense, and it’s clear you’re really listening to the community. Major respect for all the hard work you put in!

And that label maker in the latest update? Absolutely fantastic! I’m having a blast with it. Thanks again!

Just one tiny thing I’d love to see implemented: color information. I need it everywhere, especially in the label maker and on my roast.world roasts list and pages. I rely heavily on Agtron color as my primary reference, and having it consistently displayed would be a game-changer.

Maybe it’s the caffeine talking, but I’m just super grateful!

Cheers,
:fire: :coffee: :fire:

Can you share information on how it works? I had trouble finding it other than seeing it was in the update.

In RoasTime you go to your roasts and go in the sub-menu of the chosen roast (the 3 dots on the far right of the roast) and there you have a new option

Makes a QR label you can copy and print. links to a public version of the roast curve.
Test Label RW
I just learned this and it works for me, can someone confirm it works for them.
I converted into a jpg which would copy/paste then print in a label. Really simple but feels high tech, lol.

Any tips on how to get the name of the Bean to show up on the label maker? It isn’t one of the options I see when clicking through the pre-set brackets.

We are improving the label maker and have a new version coming out soon.
This should launch after the Amsterdam coffee fest ends, (where Aillio is hosting the roasting competition)

You can print labels on pretty much any printer. Using A4 sheets of label paper and then cutting them out. It allows for creation, customization and use of colours, photos, etc. Also, you can add the label created with the label maker to your bigger label. I’ve also included the QR code that I customize after downloading. By customizing, I mean the text underneath. You can do anything with any printer with a little bit of skill.

I do have a laser printer and bought A4 ark with labels - I realise this is the most flexible setup, but I would like to get a dedicated label maker to make labels on demand, preferably colour too. Has any one tried the Brother VC-500W?

Back in March I bought this Canon printer and use label paper. So far prints off some really nice quality color, clean lines, etc. Reasonably priced as well for the volume of labels I actually need at the moment. It would be cost prohibitive if you are running large volumes but for friends and family and farmer’s markets it’s a nice choice.

I roasted this weekend and tried to print a bag label but when I press the Print Image button in RoastTime, nothing happens. I am using the latest version of RoastTime on macOS Sequoia. Anyone have any ideas how to troubleshoot a non-functional Print Image button?

Please make sure that your Mac allows you to download the file from Roastime, try to disable your antivirus, and Roastime has a similar Save As - Export Logs button, where you can try to download it here

And this print bag label will have the next upgrade soon, Please let us know if the issue is still present.

@varistaillio, thank you for the response.

  1. I have confirmed that nothing is blocking RoastTime’s access
  2. I downloaded the ARM version for macOS from the Aillio website and reinstalled
  3. After launching the new version, it said there were updates and to quit and relaunch
  4. I quit and re-launched and Roast Time upgraded
  5. However, the Print Label button still does not work - it doesn’t do anything.

Here is the version information for the freshly downloaded RoastTime

And the logs where it checks for an update and says it is up to date

{"context":{"service":2,"version":"4.11.10","action":"CheckForUpdates","logLevel":30},"message":"FE is up to date","sequence":"9","time":1748606802265,"version":"2.0.0"}

Your client version is v1.165.6 but mine is still v1.164.0 even though I just downloaded it from Aillio.

I really would like to use the bag label feature and I am happy to test a beta release if necessary.

Best,
Bruce
