Diagram Sheets

How about spec sheets and diagrams of where things are and how things flow.

example in the owners manual page 35 maintenance of Drum a DO NOT is listed to not destroy the “Mica Tube”. where is the Mica Tube?

I agree, It would be nice to have a detailed diagram of where things are and what they are called so we can all speak about the same things.

The mica tube is the housing that the drum rotates inside. Mica is a natural insulator that can withstand extremely high heat. But it is fragile and can delaminate. There are some very specific warnings about not using compressed air on that little gap between the Drum and the housing (the mica sleeve or tube)

In the photo below the white inner tube is the mica or insulation tube.

From the Bullet manual:

Side note:
Burnt chaff collects in the bottom of the insulation tube during normal use. Normally it is not a problem, but if you roast a lot of natural beans, you can end up with a lot of chaff.

Here is a link to a thread bout that situation, but it really doesn’t have a good resolution:

Wow, thank you so much…this is what I am talking about :grinning:

I clean out the burnt chaff between roasts from the front using a vacuum cleaner “crevice tool” through the door on the blow side of the vacuum cleaner. While this is technically compressed air (air at above atmospheric pressure), it certainly is stretching the definition. Not likely to cause any damage to the drum insulation.

It does an excellent job, other than spewing burnt chaff everywhere.
