Good job. Now it’s time to get caught up with roasting!
Hello,
I also received this error code on my third seasoning roast yesterday. I was told to look at the connections to the IBTS fan. I looked at the fan and saw that it wasn’t spinning when it was screwed on when I blew on it, but when I took the fan off, it spins when I blew on it. So I decided to untighten the screw slightly and it spins when I blew on it! Error code gone.
Just wanted to let someone know just incase they ran into this issue even with a new fan.

I also got the 6864 error a week ago on roast #169…V1.5 running f/w 558.
Due to you guys, especially Bruce with the well photographed step by step above, I replaced the fan today, and did 2 roasts just perfectly. Thank you.
I contacted Sweet Maria’s and they are a joy to work with…asked me to clean the IBTS, which I did but no improvement, so they mailed out a replacement fan same day.
I used dpiette’s procedure above to get 4 more roasts done before the new fan arrived, but got/had to clear errors each time.
Kudo’s to all of you that contributed, and to Julio and Ryan at Sweet Marias’ for excellent service, and to Aillio, which made a roaster I could repair and who had included the tools I needed in the kit that came with the roaster.
BTW, my old fan was spotless, too. I noticed a rubber gasket around the fan housing…I wonder if those with dirty fans have a gasket that’s not correctly seated. Or maybe they roast a lot more and darker then I do.
Guess I need to dig into the pedestal again to be sure. I think the gasket is ok, but I’d better be sure. Thanks for this…
Bruce
If I get this ErC 6864 and stil can’t solve the problem what should I do… buy a spare parts of the IBTS fan? I’ve sent email to tech support and hope will get solution asap.
In my case, the failed fan was easy to spot with the Info data. IBTS fan speed is displayed there, so you can see if it’s low (< 5,000 RPM is low). I don’t know how old your roaster is, but my replacement was considered a warranty repair. Aillio told Sweet Maria’s (my roaster supplier) to send me a replacement for $0.
Bottom line is to start a trouble ticket with Aillio (which you’ve already done) and get some guidance with troubleshooting. Unfortunately we’re into the weekend plus time zones get in the way. My experience with Aillio tech support has been very positive. And they have access to all the codes thrown by the roaster saved on their server.
Bruce
Thx Bruce
I’ve got the replacement from Aillio, I’ve installed it and is now working well. BTW, you mention about info data, can you show me to find it.

Info is in a tiny pop-up panel that has 2 pages. It’s visible in RT3 on the Roast page (only). Check the upper right corner for a tiny icon- a circled “i”. Click that and the little Info panel will pop up. If you feel the need, you can drag it someplace away from where the major roast activity is displayed.
The 2nd page is accessible by clicking Logs on the header of the Info pop-up. If your roaster has thrown any codes, the data is displayed there. Assuming an internet connection, any data displayed there has been sent to the Aillio server. There’s an option to copy the data to your clipboard.
You don’t need to be connected to the roaster to see the Info (& Logs) panel, but all the data displayed there originates from the roaster. So without the roaster connected (as in this screenshot) all you’ll see on the Info page is a list of the data labels but the entries will be zero (Info) or just a blank page for Logs.
Just a quick email to say thank you to the community and Aillio Thailand.
I have had this fault for a few months and kept putting up with it. The beep finally got the better of me. I read this thread, ordered a fan, delivered to my door within a few days, 15 min installation time and fixed.
Thank you
Tim
This ended up being the issue for us! Brand new v2 roaster started show error 6864 on startup. Following instructions to open up the panel, and sure enough fan wasn’t spinning. I loosed the screw and it began spinning again. Not sure what made it stop, but this has resolved it. No errors after several pounds of roasting!
Same here, thanks for all the info! Brand new Bullet, getting the error 6864 on start. Found the info about loosening the fans screws and it worked! I will keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow’s seasoning roasts!
I had the same error after deep cleaning, then I opend the front panel and cleaned the IBTS fan and things are solved.
On my R1V2 220v, I get about 17,400~17,600 IBTS Fan RPM while on off mode without any error codes. Took a video.
The fan was very clean so I don’t know what the issue is. Maybe the fan got misaligned while traveling with it?
I am not sure what issue you are reporting? Noise?
Hello Jacob,
It’s the buzzing sound I’m getting from the IBTS fan. It’s a fairly new used bullet I purchased a couple of days ago and didn’t notice any of that cratching/buzzing sound when sample roasting with the seller. I took the legs off and transported it with a duffle bag (being very careful of course with the sensitive electronics).
I uploaded another video with the roast.time. Can you detect anything wrong with the roast info?
Here’s a YT shorts of how the IBTS fan looks like while spinning.
Also, I tried taking off the blue and bundle cords connected to the control panel for an easy access to the IBTS but had no success as they were so tightly attached. I was only able to detach the IBTS cable (black one). Photos attached.
I would appreciate any guidance on this matter.
Thank you.
IBTS Fan
don’t know how to pull this cable out without possibly damaging something
The blue one is very tightly attached.
The two black screw thingy is loose but it’s not the cause of the noise.
those two pegs should be pushed in, so that the plastic is completely up against the silicone part. Take a flat screwdriver and try to push them in more.
About the noise, some fans are more noisy than others.
Make sure you tighten the screw holding the fan very little, otherwise the fan could warp and damage it.
I cleaned the bullet and when I want to calibrate the fan before the start up it ends with ErC 6864.
Also when I start the machine, the ErC 6864 is still showing and not heating up.
I cleaned the IBTS fan, yet the message is still showing, I appreciate your support
What are the RPMs showing for the IBTS fan in RT?
The calibration of the fan is for the exhaust fan, and this should not help with your problem.
If RPM is 0 I would think that the IBTS fan needs to be replaced.
Dear Jacob,
I had communicated with Aillio technical team, and I order an IBTS fan replacement.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
