Good luck! I’ve got a new board on the way.
Hi Jacob:
I got this error ERC 256, I updated the firmware but still not working, Any suggestions?
Thanks
I too have started getting this error code. It happens right when I plug the Bullet in, before pre-heating. When I try to pre-heat the IBTS temp doesn’t change. I checked the voltage with a multimeter and it looks fine. I have the latest firmware (605). Do I need a new board?
I tried looking through the logs but did not see anything. Best thing would be if you could update to RT4 and copy the logs, then send them to support.
I updated to RT4. How do I copy the logs? When I plug the roaster into the computer RT doesn’t recognize it.
Did you let RT4 update?
What is the connection status? Disconnected?
Are you on windows / Mac?
If windows, can you find the bullet in the device manager?
Or does it show up elsewhere?
I did let RT4 update. I am on a Mac. The status says Disconnected.
I am able to find the Bullet in system information. Here’s what it says:
Aillio LTD- Bullet R1 ROASTER FS:
Product ID: 0xa27e
Vendor ID: 0x0483 (STMicroelectronics)
Version: 2.00
Serial Number: 000000000200
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/s
Manufacturer: STMicroelectronics
Location ID: 0x14200000 / 5
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 100
Extra Operating Current (mA): 0
Actually, now RT4 is recognizing it. Here are the logs:

Also got the error code 256 on my R1V2 when it was in Charge Mode this morning. I could not escape it, eventually resorted to turning the Bullet off an on quickly to avoid melting any electronics, and it now displays Err 0001 and remains in that state despite cooling down and restarting. I sent a support ticket but if anyone can help, I’m due to do a Virtual SCA foundation roasting course with Coffee Mind this Thursday and need a working Bullet.
In the manual it states Err 0001 (I’ve not taken off the front plate, so not sure I should start pulling stuff apart):
No communication with the induction module. Happens at startup. Most likely because a connector is loose on the control board. If you recently took off the front plate you might accidentally have pulled out the connector.
Remove the cover plate on the control board. Remove the 4 black screws securing the PCB module. Carefully pull out the module and check that all connectors are in place. Reassemble.
Did you get this fixed?
I am also getting ErC 0256 at the end of roasting after I dump the beans. It’s been going on for at least a week and hasn’t affected any of my roasts yet, but it’s very annoying and I’m not sure what to do about it.
I checked your logs and everything seems to be running fine.
Right now we don’t log errors in cooling mode so I can’t see what is going on, but you should be able to see the error logs in RT in the info panel. Perhaps you can copy and send that if you get the error again.
Jacob, All fixed, swapped control board, all up and running, great support, thanks Aillio Team for getting the spare part out so quickly.
Ben
Hy Jacob , after roasting my bullet have erc 256 when cooling Beans , and now show again when PH , and suddenly stop running while roasting… i use 615 Beta firmware . I have no idea what happen and what should i do ,
I started getting the error again in cooldown. Here is a copy of my logs, but I don’t see it showing up in there. It says Error 38 in RT, but Error 0256 on the panel.
Is it an issue with my power cable, possibly? It only happens during cooldown, though.

These errors indicate that the induction board cannot detect the sine of the voltage in a reasonable time. Also it shows very low voltages.
Please check your cable, your outlet (try using a different outlet), and make sure no other power consuming device is on the same circuit. We have seen old fridges creating problems when their compressor starts and then the voltage would drop dramatically.
Dear Jacob,
Thank you a lot, the issue is solved.
Kind regards
