@mcaillio
Any updates?
@jimmybulletroaster Appreciate the follow up. I have been on leave the past week moving my family.
I am testing on an older macbook with Catalina on it.
Ran additional install and update to the latest firmware.
still the same issue. Titles auto delete on restart.
But the titles are there for a brief moment, and then disappear right before your eyes. So the titles are “loaded”, but seems there is a referencing happening where they get changed upon RT4 starting up again.
Mac OS Mojave
It allows me to run 32bit applications, otherwise I’d update it.
just got error A-01, so even if we get this bug squared away, just go another issue to work out. lol.
I don’t think your arch (32) would affect this. I do think it is probably a bug in RT itself. Just don’t know why it’s so difficult to re-create.
I am not as familiar with the F/W errors, but I believe A-01 is a blocked exhaust fan.
EDIT: Fan error fixed.
Original text: It was initially snagging on the rubber gasket, but after adjusting the distance the fan error popped up again. I’ll run another calibration and if it keeps happening. I’ll follow up with a ticket. Don’t want to derail here, but wanted to note, just in case it relates to a trend later on.
Also, if I save a roast title before the roast finishes, by using “edit current roast”, then the title saves.
But if I edit that presaved title to something else, when I restart RT4, the title reverts to the presaved title.
Does that make sense?
So in theory, RT4 isn’t deleting, but reverting to what the title was at the end of the roast.
It will retain the edited data right on up to the restart of RT4, where it will be on screen for a fraction of a second, and then it will revert to whatever the roast title was before.
Interesting. Let me try a few more scenarios.
Ok, thanks.
It is a tough decision choosing between higher IBGT1 temp and having the ability to run legacy programs.
But it will be good to know if this issue is just happening with me, or if anyone else is still experiencing the issue.
Seems some others temporarily had it, even on windows.
So, good news. I was able to reproduce this once. Luckily that was all I needed. I should have a potential fix out in the next day or two.
Follow up - I have the fix ready. Will prob be out tomorrow for beta cohort.
Sounds good!
The beta for this has been released. To opt in - please visit Log in | Roast.World and connect to wifi to get Proxy v1.44.5.
When trying to opt in, I get the error Error in enrolling beta tester: “Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘role’)”
They may be off for the weekend. They aren’t like us coffee people, they get days off and have a paycheck. Haha. We get to do our “passion” while A.I. is looming. lol.
This should be fixed now. Can you try again and let me know?
Oddly, my RT downgrades itself to proxy service v1.42.2
Not sure why it does that. I’ve updated twice to v1.43.4
Edit: even the beta will revert to v1.42.2 when I delete the rt folders
BETA proxy seems to have fixed the edit after the roast issue.
Although, previous versions would occasionally work for a while too. So, I’ll try again the next couple days, and see how it goes.
Some unexpected behavior just for note taking, probably nothing:
- At one point, none of my roast history showed up. May have just not synced before I quit, though unlikely, because normally the roasts sync very quickly. Did not happen later on, so probably nothing.
- when I start RT4 it says it is applying an update everytime. But then shows v1.42.2 in the settings. *while offline
