Don’t overtighten the chaff container plug screws

A little tip if you’re having problems with your chaff container plug.

The past few roasting sessions I was having a brutal time trying to get my chaff plug to seal properly. The lip at the end of the flap was barely making contact with the edge of the container opening.

Finally took a closer look at it this mourning and noticed that I’d cranked down on the two little hex screws that secure the hinge end of the flap to the container. This caused the rubber hinge to pucker slightly, in turn causing the flap to plug back and away from the container opening.

I loosened the screws to to point where they were just starting to compress the rubber and that allowed the plug to seal securely without any fuss.
